Day 4 + 1.5 Hours

Most of my time today was spent in continuing to hollow out the area between the front legs, and to separate the front and rear legs. The left rear leg is now seen to be tucked under and behind the front leg. I also refined the head a bit more.

I usually put some muscles on my bears, but since this guy is sitting I thought fat rolls would be more appropriate. You can see some of these rolls in the shoulder and upper arm areas of the carving. These were added with a file, and then sanded to soften them.

Day 4 + 1.5 Hours

Another view of the carving. I leave the ears for last out of fear that they may break. You can see the pencil mark showing the centre line on the lower back.
